The World Health Organization (WHO) has once again alerted the world about the corona virus. The WHO said on Wednesday that the pandemic was not over yet. The organization said that there has been an increase of 7 percent in new cases of corona virus globally last week. However, there has been a decline in the deaths due to corona virus.
WH warned that until all countries cover vaccination, the world will continue to fight with the increasing infection of COVID and its new variants. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, ‘We all want to move on from the epidemic, but no matter how far we take it, this epidemic is not over. Until we reach high immunization coverage in all countries, we will face increased infection and new variants.

Tedros further said that the global increase in corona virus cases continues. While its outbreak is increasing in Asia, Europe is moving towards a new wave. Many countries have seen the highest death rates since the start of the pandemic. The virus is reflecting the speed at which Omicron spreads. There is an increased risk of death for those who have not been vaccinated. Especially the elderly people.
The head of the UN health agency said the WHO aims to vaccinate 70 percent of every country’s population by the middle of this year, with priority given to healthcare workers, older people and other at-risk groups. According to the WHO, more than 12 million new cases were reported last week.
