Fortunately, the ship’s 22-man crew was evacuated and no casualties were reported, the Portuguese military said in a statement. However, the cause of the fire could not be ascertained till the time of writing this news. According to a Bloomberg report, the ship is still stuck at sea level and rescue work is going on. Citing an internal email from the German group, the news outlet reported that there were 3,965 vehicles on board, a number that included 1,110 Porsche cars.
A Porsche spokesperson said in a statement to Robb Report that several of its vehicles were among The Felicity Ace’s cargo and said it would provide assistance to customers and dealers affected by the fire. However, it is not clear how many Porsche cars have been affected by the arson. Meanwhile, Matt Farah, a YouTube automotive influencer and podcaster, claimed on Twitter that his custom-spec Porsche Boxster Spyder with prices starting at $98,300 was also onboard.
