Dehradun. From which seat Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami will contest, there has been speculation till now. Now it is clear from which seat Dhami will contest the assembly elections. This seat is Champawat. BJP’s Kailash Gahatodi won the election from Champawat. Gehtori has now resigned from this seat. He met Speaker Ritu Khanduri and submitted his resignation from the post of MLA to him today. Now the Election Commission will conduct elections here within 6 months and CM Dhami will claim from here. Champawat seat is a strong seat of BJP. Because of this, Dhami’s victory from here is considered certain.
Dhami had earlier filed his nomination from Khatima seat during the assembly elections. Last time also he had won from Khatima seat, but this time he lost to Congress candidate by a few votes. Even after defeating Dhami, the BJP leadership handed over the command of Uttarakhand and he has emerged as a strong leader of the state. Earlier there was also news about Dhami that a Congress MLA can give up his seat for him, but with Gehtori’s resignation it has become clear that BJP had no intention of sabotaging the Congress camp.
BJP, which formed the government after winning the elections last time in Uttarakhand, made two CMs before Dhami. The first CM was Trivendra Singh Rawat. After him, Tirath Singh Rawat was handed over the command of Uttarakhand by BJP. Both the CMs were embroiled in some controversies. After which Dhami was handed over the command of CM of the state by the BJP leadership. Dhami became quite famous in the first few months of his tenure and the people of the state seeing his face once again gave a majority to the BJP in Uttarakhand, defeating the intentions of the Congress.
