New Delhi. The judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, arrested in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam case, has been extended till May 7. Rouse Avenue Court has sought a response from the Central Investigation Agency on Sisodia’s petition demanding that the CBI not start the hearing to frame charges.
Meanwhile, something happened in the court which made the judge angry. In fact, after the arguments were over, Manish Sisodia’s lawyers walked out of the court without informing, which was a kind of walk out. Expressing displeasure on this matter, the judge said that we have seen this kind of behavior for the first time. You walked out of the court as soon as your arguments were completed. We did not give permission to go out and you neither asked nor told us, you just walked out. On this, Sisodia’s lawyer apologized and said that we should not have done this.
Earlier, Sisodia’s lawyer said that the court had said in its order that if CBI arrests anyone during the investigation of the case, then the hearing will not start after framing the charge. In such a situation, the hearing on framing of charges in the case should not start yet. On this, CBI said that we will argue on the basis of the chargesheet filed.
A day before this, on Tuesday, the court arrested Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal and BRS leader K in the same case. Kavita’s judicial custody was also extended till May 7. ED and CBI have completely tightened the noose on Aam Aadmi Party in the money laundering case related to liquor scam. Many other people including AAP leaders have also been arrested in this case.
