New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan has been declared a ‘history-sheeter’ and ‘bad character’ of Jamia Nagar area by the Delhi Police on charges of a large number of crimes. Official sources gave this information on Friday.
According to an official document, a copy of which is with -AnyTV News, the MLA was declared a ‘Bad Character’ (BC) of Jamia Nagar area on March 30. Khan’s name has already been involved in 18 cases.
According to the document, Amanatullah Khan had taken admission in Jamia Millia Islamia but had not completed his degree and thus is only educated till class 12th.
The document prepared by the Jamia Nagar police station states, “He started his business in Jamia Nagar and soon formed a group with the people of his village and their neighboring villages and got involved in land grabbing and illegal construction of theirs. Most of the cases registered against them relate to intimidation, causing hurt, rioting, obstructing the duties of public servants and creating enmity between two groups and communities.”
Based on these involvements, Khan’s name was proposed as the ‘bad character’ of the area so that his activities could be kept under surveillance.
The information shared by the source comes a day after the AAP leader was arrested for obstructing the proposed anti-encroachment drive in Madanpur Khadar area.
He has been accused of allegedly stopping South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) officials from doing their work and obstructing government work, as well as promoting violence.
According to DCP (South-East) Isha Pandey, an FIR was registered on Thursday against the AAP MLA and five of his supporters under various sections of the IPC, including obstructing public servant in discharge of his public functions, obstructing public servant from his duties. Assault or use of criminal force to prevent the discharge of a crime, as well as abetting violence, being armed with a deadly weapon, being a member of an unlawful assembly and incitement with intent to incite riots, etc.

Even before this, when the Municipal Corporation launched a demolition drive in Shaheen Bagh area on May 9, Amanatullah Khan and his supporters were booked for obstructing public servants in the discharge of their duties.
