New Delhi. On Friday, around 6 pm, a dust storm disrupted life in Delhi-NCR. Visibility on the roads also reduced considerably. It is known that the Indian Meteorological Institute (IMD) had predicted light rain in Delhi on Friday in the NCR region, which is likely to bring relief to the people suffering from the scorching heat in NCR.
It is known that the Meteorological Department had predicted partly cloudy sky in Delhi on Friday and possibility of thundershowers and light rain or drizzle at some places in the afternoon and evening. The IMD had predicted heat wave in some areas and strong winds at the speed of 35 kmph on Friday. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Friday are likely to be around 44 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively.
Severe heat wave across India
The outbreak of severe heat continues across the country. Everyone’s eyes are fixed on the sky to see when it will rain and people can get relief. In this sequence, IMD had predicted light rain in all the areas adjoining Delhi. The Meteorological Department estimates that monsoon will knock in the country in the next two weeks, which can give relief to people from unbearable heat.
The mercury has crossed 46
The national capital, parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar reeled under intense heat on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures soaring above 46 degrees Celsius at many places. The slow arrival of the southwest monsoon made the situation worse, with no immediate relief expected. Maximum temperatures hovered between 44 and 47 degrees Celsius in parts of Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, as well as parts of Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
