The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has sought clarification from Air India in a case of flight on the Newark-Delhi route. Actually, Air India had sent a special plane to Barbados to bring back Team India. But later it was found that this special plane was actually supposed to carry passengers from Newark to Delhi. According to PTI news, this sudden change has caused confusion and inconvenience for passengers traveling on the Newark-Delhi route. This hitch has raised concerns about the airline’s operational decisions and priority.
Most passengers were already informed about this
According to the news, DGCA has sought a detailed report from Air India in this matter. A senior official has confirmed that the aviation regulator is seeking clarification from the airline about the decision to deploy the aircraft scheduled for the transportation of the cricket team. However, the official claimed that this redirection did not cause any inconvenience to the passengers. It is said that most of the passengers who had already booked tickets for the Newark to Delhi flight had already received this information. But, there were some who missed the information and when they reached the airport, they came to know that their flight had been cancelled.
managed to fly to Delhi
According to the report, the official said that the passengers were then sent to New York by road and from there they managed to fly to Delhi. Now, what caused all this? It turns out that Hurricane Beryl disrupted the cricket team’s travel plans, so the Board of Control for Cricket in India had to take some steps and arrange a chartered flight to bring them back home. While this gesture towards the T20 World Cup champions was well-intentioned, it has highlighted the need for better communication and planning to avoid such disruptions in the future.
