New Delhi. If you are a resident of Delhi and you have a diesel vehicle which is more than 10 years old, then soon you will not be able to drive it on the road. The reason for this is the new order recently issued by the Delhi government. According to this new order, all such diesel vehicles of Delhi, which are more than 10 years old, their registration will be abolished. After that they will not be allowed to drive on the road. And if still someone does this, then it will be considered illegal.
When will the new order come into force?
The Delhi government has recently ordered to end the registration of diesel vehicles older than 10 years, it will be applicable from the beginning of the new year i.e. from January 1, 2022. In such a situation, till December 31, 2021, you can drive your diesel vehicles older than 10 years on the road of Delhi. But from January 1, 2022, they will be banned.
can be registered again
The Delhi government will issue a NOC to all those 10-year old vehicles whose registration will be de-registered. With this, those old diesel vehicles can be re-registered in places other than Delhi. However, such diesel vehicles which are more than 15 years old will not be given NOC.
NGT order is being followed
The Transport Department of the Delhi Government has recently issued a statement saying that in compliance with the order of the NGT (National Green Tribunal), on January 1 next year, the registration of all those diesel vehicles in Delhi, which have been registered till that date, will be cancelled. Years have been completed or will be completed. It was also told that after this NOC can be issued for 10 years old diesel vehicles and 15 years old petrol vehicles for any other place in the country. However, in those states, where there is already a ban on doing so, the NOC will not be issued. NOC will not be issued for the places marked as restricted area for re-registration of such vehicles.
Option to convert to electric vehicles
Delhi government has also given another option to all such people of the city who have 0 years old diesel vehicles and 15 years old petrol vehicles. Under this option, these people will get the option to convert their old vehicles into electric vehicles through electric kits. With this, those electric vehicles will be allowed to ply on the roads of Delhi again. The Delhi government had discussed this some time back as well.
