A 27-year-old woman was allegedly drugged and raped by a man in his car parked in the basement of Sahara Mall in NCR’s Gurugram. According to the police, the accused, identified as Tushar Sharma, had called the woman, an engineering graduate, on the pretext of a job interview and raped her after mixing some intoxicant in water.
The girl lives in DLF area and went for interview.
The woman told the police that she lives in DLF area and was searching for a job online and got the number of a person who introduced himself as Tushar Sharma. The accused called the victim for an interview at the mall on Saturday on the pretext of getting her a job.
The girl told the incident.
According to the telephonic conversation, I reached the mall on Saturday around 1 pm. He met me at the entrance gate and asked me to discuss the job and took me to the basement of the mall, where he offered me water. Soon after, I lost consciousness, he committed a crime with me and fled from the spot.
Later the victim informed the police about the matter. Police took the victim to the hospital for medical examination. “We are verifying the allegations in the complaint. The accused is yet to be arrested,” said a senior police officer.
An FIR was registered against Tushar Sharma under sections 328 (causing hurt by poison), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. The police have sought CCTV footage from the mall management and are trying to nab the accused.
