Do fishes release gas under water?
Shreya Dasgupta told that it is about the year 1981. During that time there was a period of cold war. Swedish military equipment heard strange sounds under water. At first it seemed that the Soviet Union might be giving some signal to attack them. But it was not so. In the same year, a Russian submarine got stuck in the stones present in the water. The coast of Sweden was not far from where it got stuck. Much has been written about these voices in the media. But for many years it could not be ascertained where the sound was coming from. The Cold War also ended but the sounds coming from under the water could not be detected. However, the answer to this was being sought as to who was extracting these sounds from under the water.
The year that came after this was 1995, the month of February. The then Prime Minister of Sweden, Ingvar Carlson, announced to the media that the underwater vocalizers were none other than minks. Minks are a type of mammal that spend most of their time under water. At one time, when the clouds of suspicion were roaming around, the Swedish army told that the sound coming from under the water is that of frying eggs. They thought that this was happening due to the bubbles created by the propeller of the submarine in the water. But in the early 1990s, with the help of new sonar equipment, it was discovered that when minks move from one island to another, the sound made by their nails comes from under water. This sound matches the sound coming out of submarine propellers. But not only minks keep making such sounds, but many mysterious sounds come from inside the water. When scientists tried to know deeply about these sounds, it appeared to match the sound of a gas.
Shreya Dasgupta told that it was none other than the silver colored fishes that were extracting gas from inside the water. It gathers every year near the coast of Sweden. These fish have a gas-filled organ called a swim bladder. It looks like a balloon or a human lung, which expands and deflates according to the amount of air the fish inhales. Many fish have a swim bladder attached to their abdomen. But in the case of Hilsa fish, the inflation bag remains attached to the anal duct. Researchers also told that fish often do the work of extracting gas at night. They communicate with other fish with the help of gas as soon as they see the danger near. Shreya said that I believe that one should never judge the enemy by his voice.
Amazing ability of mimicry in parrots
You must have seen humans taking out the voices of many actors and politicians many times. But Shreya tells that parrots also have amazing talent to extract the voices of others. Shreya told that many times people asked me that some parrots speak exactly what humans say. Out of which African gray parrots are considered smart in this matter. There are many such videos of these birds in YouTube in which they can be heard saying I Love You and Turn The Lights Off to Alexa. How do parrots speak human language? Let’s know.
How do parrots make sounds?
The structure of the vocal tract of parrots is complex. Birds can bring about changes in their syrinx. By making this change, he can make many types of sounds. Not only this, due to the fluctuations in the voice, apart from humans, birds can also make each other’s voice. But the thing to note is that this syrinx is not so effective that a bird will start speaking like a human. There is one more thing special about the African gray parrot. Their tongue is broad and flexible. This allows them to move and mimic their tongue while opening their beak. It helps them to speak human words. Not only this, a secret is also hidden in his mind. Researchers have found that both humans and parrots have an area in the front part of the brain that makes direct connections to the vocal muscles. On the other hand, animals like lion and dog do not have this forebrain pathway thing.
