Multivitamin deficiency: Vitamins are very important for our body. It helps in preventing infection from external attacks in the body, heals wounds, strengthens bones and helps in making many things including hormones. A healthy life cannot be imagined without vitamins. There are mainly 13 types of vitamins. We get most of the vitamins from the food we eat. But often you must have seen it written in the advertisements of medicine shops that 8 out of 10 people in India are deficient in multivitamins. So can there be deficiency of multivitamins i.e. all types of vitamins simultaneously? The country’s well-known doctor and Padma Shri awardee Dr. V Mohan has strongly attacked such advertisements.
Side effects of multivitamins
Dr. V Mohan X has written that there is no such thing as multivitamin deficiency. Medical science has nothing to do with this. Any person can have Vitamin A deficiency. There may be deficiency of Vitamin D, deficiency of Vitamin B12 or anything else but there cannot be deficiency of multivitamins. Therefore, the multivitamin tablets available in the market do not provide any benefit, on the contrary, they can also cause harm. Generally taking multivitamins does not compensate for vitamin deficiency. Dr. V Mohan has also posted an advertisement on X in which it is claimed that 8 out of every 10 people have multivitamin deficiency. Dr. V Mohan met Dr. Babu K. Also tagged V. Dr. Babu K. V. is the one who challenged Patanjali’s claim in the Supreme Court and won it too. Baba Ramdev had to apologize for this. Not only this, Dr. V. Mohan has also won the case against the Medical Council of India.
There is nothing called multivitamin deficiency. Unless there is deficiency of specific vitamins, Eg. Vit D or B12, giving multivitamins may not be beneficial and may even do harm. And Multivitamins usually do not provide enough of the deficient vitamin.@drbabukv pic.twitter.com/rwdo9Oe1QI
