IIT Job Placement: The motive of people to study from countries like IIT or America is to get a job with good salary. But according to the Right to Information data released recently, 30 percent of IIT students have not got jobs. But there is no one to question the Indians who have passed out from the famous colleges of America. The condition of Indian students studying from these renowned colleges of America is such that it is difficult to get even internship offers, let alone jobs.
The famous colleges of America that we are talking about are considered a group of Ivy League institutions. This includes eight American institutions, Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Pennsylvania University, Princeton University and Yale University. Students of these universities are also facing challenges in getting internships and job opportunities.
Adarsh Khandelwal, who belongs to these top universities of America, said that about 400 graduate students including Ivy League schools have not received any offers for this summer internship. The global economic recession and election years are the major factors leading to companies giving priority to hiring local students. Apart from this, students of STEM i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths are also facing difficulties because technology and consultant companies are stopping recruitment. Despite a large number of Indian students going to America for education, job prospects remain bleak.
