India is full of people driving under the influence of alcohol despite strict law rules, and this does not apply only to the common man, in fact, recently former cricketer Vinod Kambli was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. He is accused of hitting another car and the society’s gate, leading to Vinod Kambli being taken into custody, and interrogation underway at Bandra police station.
Allegations under Indian Penal Code section 185
The complaint against the cricketer was lodged by a resident of Bandra Society. He was charged under Section 185 of the Indian Penal Code of the Motor Vehicle Act. This section deals with driving under the influence of alcohol. However, he got bail later the same day and Vinod Kambli is said to have argued with the residents and the watchman of the complex after the incident.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Manjunath Singhe said, “He was driving his car in an inebriated condition. He has been arrested, and further investigation is being done by the Bandra police station. There is no doubt in the fact that due to alcohol, the human brain reacts slowly, it can lead to major accidents. Alcohol also slows down our senses.

Under the influence of alcohol, the driver misses the speed limit, the vehicle coming from the left, braking of the vehicle in front, zebra crossing, changing lanes, traffic lights etc. Everyone is aware that driving requires our attention and reflexes to be at their peak. Sometimes the driver is unable to apply brakes on time due to sluggishness.
