Nupur Sharma had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking to shift the FIRs registered in different states to Delhi in the case of controversial remarks about Prophet Mohammad. The court had rejected this petition and severely reprimanded Nupur Sharma for her controversial statement. After these oral remarks of the Supreme Court, the politics in the country has heated up. At the same time, there is no dearth of people speaking in support of Nupur on this issue. They are getting support not only from India but also from other countries. Similar support has come from the Netherlands MP Geert Wilders. He said that Nupur Sharma should never apologize for speaking the truth about the Prophet.
Geert Wilders has given his response by tweeting after the news of Nupur Sharma being severely reprimanded by the Supreme Court in the media. He said, “I felt that there are no Sharia courts in India, they should never apologize for speaking the truth about the Prophet. He (Nupur) is not responsible for the Udaipur incident, only fundamentalist intolerant jihadi Muslims are responsible for it.”
Cases have been registered in different parts of the country against Nupur Sharma, suspended from the BJP for the controversial statement against Prophet Mohammad. Nupur Sharma had petitioned the Supreme Court to transfer these cases to Delhi and demanded that the cases registered in different states should be transferred to Delhi. He had cited behind this that he is getting constant death threats.
During the hearing of this petition, the Supreme Court had strongly reprimanded Nupur Sharma. The court had said that due to his remarks, the sentiments of people across the country have been aroused and he alone is responsible for what is happening in the country today. The Supreme Court had also held Nupur’s statement responsible for the Udaipur incident.
