New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi government minister Atishi has been sent a notice by the Election Commission. The Election Commission has given time to Atishi till 12 noon on Monday i.e. 8th April to reply to this notice. In fact, Atishi had claimed during a press conference on April 2 that he was being pressured to join BJP. If he does not do so, he and some other Aam Aadmi Party leaders Saurabh Bhardwaj, Raghav Chadha and Durgesh Pathak can be arrested by the ED. After this, a complaint was lodged against Atishi on which the Election Commission has sought clarification from the Delhi Government Minister.
Earlier, after serious allegations were made by Atishi, a minister in the Kejriwal government, a legal notice was also sent to him by BJP on April 3. Giving information about the legal notice, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva had said that the AAP minister’s claim that she was being pressurized to join BJP through an acquaintance, is a baseless allegation. Either Atishi reveals the identity of the person who contacted him to join BJP or else publicly apologise.
Hitting back at Atishi, the BJP leader had said that we have given a legal notice to AAP leader Atishi to give evidence, we will not let him escape. This time they will have to answer. Earlier, during the court appearance of AAP convenor and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in the Delhi liquor scam case, the ED had taken Atishi’s name alleging his involvement in the case. ED claimed that Kejriwal told during interrogation that scam accused Vijay Nair, who is currently in jail, used to report to Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj.
