Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Wednesday that the government’s policies and proactive steps taken by it have helped the country recover from the situation arising out of the corona pandemic. He said that these steps include measures like reduction in corporate tax and digitization of the economy. In the program ‘India’s Economic Journey@75’ organized in the special week celebrations under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the Finance Minister said that India has faced challenges and succeeded with its strong infrastructure.
Enabling the economy and people to face difficult times
The event was organized jointly by the Department of Economic Affairs and SEBI. The Finance Minister said that various steps taken by the government since 2014 have enabled the economy and the people to tide over the difficult times.
