New Delhi. Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who is suffering from Corona, has now been asked by the Enforcement Directorate ED to appear on June 23 in the National Herald case. The ED is probing the money laundering case against Sonia and her son Rahul Gandhi. Sonia was earlier called by the ED for questioning on June 8, but a day before that, Sonia was found to be corona. After which he wrote a letter to the investigating agency asking for 3 weeks’ time. Apart from Sonia, Rahul Gandhi is also to appear before the ED on June 13 for questioning. Rahul was also called on June 2, but he had asked for a second date after giving information about being out of the country.
This matter is related to Congress-backed organization named Young Indian and National Herald newspaper. The newspaper is published by Associated Journals Limited (AJL). It was taken over by Young Indian Private Limited. For this, Young Indian Private Limited has been accused of using money here and there and illegally. According to the ED, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are to be interrogated under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Sonia, Rahul, Congress leader Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes were the shareholders in the organization named Young Indian. Of these, Vora and Fernandes have passed away.
At the same time, Congress is angry at Sonia and Rahul being summoned for questioning. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has said that the party is not going to be afraid of this. Along with this, the Congress has also announced a strong demonstration outside the ED offices across the country during the production of Rahul Gandhi on June 13. Sonia Gandhi also took an offline meeting of the members of the Congress Working Committee to discuss the matter in the past. Only after this, the announcement of the demonstration was made by the Congress across the country.
