New Delhi. The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday interrogated Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan for 13 hours in connection with allegations of corruption in the matter related to appointments in the Waqf Board. Following the order of the Supreme Court, he appeared before the ED. Khan faced questioning from 11 am to 12:30 am, but reports of his arrest were false.
Khan, MLA from Okhla, was accused of making 32 illegal appointments while holding the post of Chairman of Delhi Waqf Board. He was also accused of illegally leasing out Waqf Board properties. The agency had earlier raided the premises of some of his close associates. After returning from the ED office, Khan said he has appeared for questioning as required. He said that he answered all the questions asked during his 12-13 hour interrogation.

Earlier there were rumors that Khan had been arrested in connection with the Waqf Board appointment scam. Several senior AAP leaders, including minister Atishi and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, visited Khan’s house in response to the reports. Sanjay Singh expressed his disagreement on He said that the atrocities would end soon and mentioned that he was going to meet Khan’s family.
