New Delhi. The state government is going to prepare an action plan to make all the municipal bodies financially self-sufficient and capable. CM Yogi Adityanath has given such instructions to the officers in the team-9 meeting. He has said that every district of the state has potential and planned efforts need to be made to take advantage of this potential. He has specifically asked each district and municipal bodies to prepare an action plan for GDP by regularly reviewing their income growth.
The state government is making concerted efforts to make the municipal bodies financially self-sufficient. In order to strengthen the loss making municipal bodies, municipal corporations, gram panchayats, 100 percent recovery of other taxes like house tax, water tax is being done. Efforts are also being made to make urban bodies efficient and financially self-reliant through the schemes of the Central and State Governments. With the strengthening of the municipal bodies, from the cleanliness of the cities to the basic facilities provided to the people, they will be easily ensured. In the meeting with the officials of Team-9, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given strict instructions in view of the rain.
Municipal bodies, municipal corporations, nagar panchayats have been asked to get the drains cleaned before the rains begin. He has strictly said that there should be no problem of water logging anywhere. CM Yogi has asked the officials to thoroughly review the work done so far under the AMRUT scheme and make efforts to make the cities clean as well as beautiful. He has told the officers that with the cooperation of public participation, public representatives and social institutions, the intersections can be beautified. Instructions have been given to pay attention to energy conservation and also to ensure that street lights are turned on and switched off on time.
