The results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 will be clear today and it will be known who got the majority. Counting of votes for the elections conducted with ballot papers has started. With this, trends have started coming. Meanwhile, opposition parties are not behind in making allegations. Once again claims of tampering of EVMs have been made. This time the allegations have been made by former Chhattisgarh CM and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel. He says that EVMs have been changed in Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat and due to this thousands of votes will be affected. On this, he had demanded action from the Election Commission. Taking cognizance of this matter, the EC has termed the claims as false and has also reacted on social media.
Claims of Bhupesh Baghel
Bhupesh Baghel wrote in his X post, ‘The Election Commission had given the numbers of the machines used in the elections. This includes ballot unit, control unit and VVPAT. According to the information given in Form 17C after the voting in my constituency Rajnandgaon, the numbers of many machines have changed. The booths where the numbers have been changed affect thousands of votes. Similar complaints have been received in many other Lok Sabha constituencies. We are complaining to the State Election Officer. The Election Commission should answer under what circumstances the machines have been changed and who will be responsible for the impact on the election result? The list of changed numbers is very long but a short list is attached for your perusal.’
