Ranchi. During the ‘India’ alliance rally in Ranchi, two chairs were kept vacant on the stage for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Kejriwal and Soren are in jail in different cases. ‘Ulgulan Nyay Maharally’ has been organized mainly by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). A large number of party workers were seen wearing Soren’s ‘mask’.
Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the night of January 31 in a money laundering case related to an alleged land fraud. ED had arrested Kejriwal on March 21 in a case related to Delhi Excise Policy.
Chairs were kept vacant on the stage for JMM working president Soren and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Kejriwal. During the rally, Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren and Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal were sitting on the stage. The people present in the rally raised slogans like ‘Jail locks will be broken, Hemant Soren will be freed’.
Despite the temperature in Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi being around 40 degrees Celsius, activists gathered for the Ulgulan Nyaya Maharally, braving the scorching heat. Apart from Kalpana and Sunita, JMM supremo Shibu Soren, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav. And other leaders participated in the rally.
A total of 28 political parties took part in the rally organized at Prabhat Tara Maidan in Ranchi. In view of the rally, security arrangements have been increased with the deployment of additional security forces in the capital.
