New Delhi. The investigation report of the Ethics Committee is about to come on TMC MP Mahua Moitra, who is surrounded by cash for query i.e. asking questions in Parliament by taking money and gifts. The Ethics Committee of Parliament, which is investigating against him, can submit a draft report tomorrow i.e. on 7th November. The Ethics Committee has completed the investigation. If the report of this committee is against Mahua Moitra, then the TMC MP may have to lose her remaining membership of Parliament. The Ethics Committee had summoned Mahua Moitra in this matter. Mahua first asked for a second date and then when she appeared before the Ethics Committee, she accused its chairman and BJP MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar of asking unethical questions. At the same time, Mahua Moitra is accused of using abusive words for Vinod Kumar Sonkar.
There are 15 members in the Ethics Committee of Parliament. The number of BJP members in this committee is high. If the Ethics Committee recommends action against Mahua Moitra to Om Birla, then they will take a decision on it. In the year 2005, the issue of cash for query came up in Parliament. At that time many MPs had lost their Lok Sabha membership. These MPs had gone to the Supreme Court. Where these MPs got relief after 2 years of hearing. If action is taken against Mahua Moitra, then she will also have to go to court, but the deadline for the current Lok Sabha is now less. In such a situation, fresh elections will be held till the decision is taken.
In the cash for query case, Mahua Moitra was surrounded by the complaint of her old friend and lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai. Jai Anant Dehadrai had complained about Mahua to CBI. In the complaint sent to CBI, Dehadrai alleged that Mahua took money and many expensive gifts from businessman Darshan Hiranandani and asked questions about Gautam Adani’s companies in Parliament. Dehadrai also made serious allegations that Mahua gave her login ID and password to businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament. Hiranandani has confirmed these allegations. At the same time, Mahua has admitted that she gave the user ID and password to businessman Darshan Hiranandani, but did not take any money or other expensive things except small gifts. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had complained about this entire matter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Birla had referred the matter to the Ethics Committee.
