Shapoorji Pallonji Group is a very big group and many achievements are also registered in their name. Including the construction of the Reserve Bank of India building. Apart from this, there has also been a long dispute with the Tata Group. The matter has reached the Supreme Court. So let us tell you what is the whole matter which started from 2016 and continues till date.
what is the whole controversy
This controversy started from the year 2016 when Ratan Tata of Tata Sons abruptly sacked Cyrus Mistry from the post of chairman. Opposing the decision, Mistry had filed a petition in the Company Law Tribunal. Where the tribunal dismissed Mistry’s petition. Dismissing the petition, the tribunal had said that Tata Sons has the right to remove anyone, at any time. Mistry approached the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal against the tribunal’s decision and challenged the decision. After which in December 2019 NCLAT declared the process of sudden removal of Mistry illegal. After which Tata Sons challenged the matter in the Supreme Court and filed a petition saying that Cyrus Mistry lost the confidence of all the company’s board of directors, the decision was taken to remove him from the post only after the consent of all.
