Istanbul: FedEx Airlines’ Boeing 767 cargo plane left aviation officials breathless when its landing gear failed mid-air on Wednesday. After this sudden malfunction in the plane, without wasting any time, the plane was made a dangerous emergency landing at Istanbul Airport without any front landing gear. This plane landed at Istanbul Airport without opening the front wheel. Due to this increased friction with the road, a part of the aircraft caught fire. However, no loss of life or property was allowed.
A Turkish Transport Ministry official said the plane landed safely. There were no casualties in this. An investigation has been started into the reasons for the failure of the aircraft’s front landing gear. A ministry statement said the plane had taken off from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. The aircraft then informed the control tower in Istanbul that its landing gear failed to open and descended with guidance from the tower, managing to remain on the runway.
The fire brigade had to work hard before landing
Before the emergency landing of the plane, the fire brigade had to work hard to save the plane and the airport, but no one was injured. The plane is a nearly 10-year-old Boeing 767 freighter, one of the most common freighter aircraft and based on the 767 passenger model of the 1980s. A Turkish transport ministry official said its teams were investigating at the scene, but did not provide further details. (Reuters)
