A fire broke out at the Tata Steel plant in Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur after a sudden explosion today. Three contract laborers are reported to have been hit in this blast and arson. The injured were immediately admitted to TMH for treatment. Company sources said that the accident took place due to a battery blast at the Non-Operation Coal Plant. It is reported that the plant caught fire after the battery exploded, causing panic in the entire plant. As soon as the information about the incident of arson was received, fire tenders immediately reached the spot and the fire was brought under control.
The cause of the arson is yet to be ascertained and an inquiry has been ordered into the incident. It has been told that the safety standards are strictly followed in Tata Steel and the safety officers keep a close watch on every moment, yet this accident has raised many questions on the safety management.
