It is not yet known how the virus came into contact.
The corona pandemic has wreaked havoc across the world. After humans, the effect of corona epidemic is being seen in animals too. In the past, corona virus has been found in dogs, cats and lions in different countries of the world. Meanwhile, the US government has confirmed the first case of Kovid-19 in deer on Friday. According to a statement from the US Department of Agriculture, SARS CoV-2 infection has been observed in a white-tailed deer in a forest in Ohio.
A USDA spokesperson was informed that so far they have not received any information about how this deer came in contact with the virus. The virus may have been caused by coming into contact with a human, some other deer or any other species of animal in it. It is noteworthy that before this, the symptoms of corona virus were reported by USDA in animals like dogs, cats, tigers, lions, snow leopards and gorillas.
The USDA reported in its report last month that populations of white-tailed reindeer in Illinois, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania were exposed to the SARS CoV-2 virus. USDA said the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine collected samples from infected deer in Ohio from January to March.
