New Delhi. Indian Railways has started economy mile for the convenience of passengers. That means passengers are being given food for Rs 20. For this, regular stalls have been set up on the platform. Apart from this, passengers will also have the option of Masala Dosa to Chole Bhature. Indian Railways has started this facility in collaboration with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (Indian Railways CTC).
According to Railways, at present 150 stalls have been set up at more than 100 railway stations. These stalls are being set up in front of the general class. So that cheap food and snacks can be provided to the passengers traveling in this class. Passengers will have two types of options.

20 rupees is an affordable meal
The prices of food have been fixed by the Railways, in which passengers will get a packet of puri, vegetable and pickle for Rs 20. This will include 7 puris, 150 grams of vegetables and pickles.

The cost of other types of food is Rs 50. In this, you can take anything like Rajma, Rajma-rice, Khichdi/Pongal, Kulche-Chole, Chole-Bhatura, Pav Bhaji or Masala Dosa. Apart from this, 200 mm packaged sealed water glasses will be available for the passengers, the price of which has been kept at Rs 3.
Those going towards Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat will be saved from rushing to New Delhi station, they will be able to catch the train from here.
Was made available at 51 stations last year
Last year this service was successfully tested at about 51 stations. Based on that success, the Railways has expanded the program significantly. Now counters have become operational at more than 100 stations and there are around 150 counters in total. There are plans to expand this initiative further by including more stations in the near future.
