Rishikesh. So far 2,88885 devotees have registered themselves online for the pilgrimage to Shri Hemkund Dham including Chardham. So far about 700 buses have been booked in advance under the Joint Rotation Travel Arrangement Committee. For the last two years, the Chardham Yatra has been affected due to corona infection. So far this year, the situation is favorable. The effect of which is visible in the form of registration of passengers coming on Chardham Yatra.
After the disaster of the year 2013, the Trilok Security System Company was entrusted with the responsibility of photo-metric registration of devotees on behalf of the government. This year the system has been changed. This work has been entrusted to Ethics Infotech Company. The registration system has been made online. In which good trends are being seen regarding travel.
The doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham will be opened for devotees on Akshaya Tritiya i.e. May 3. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open on May 6 and that of Badrinath Dham on May 8. The doors of Shri Hemkund Dham are opening on 22nd May.
Till Friday evening, 2,88885 pilgrims have registered themselves for the Yatra this year through the registering body Ethics Infotech. Ethics Infotech Project Manager Prem Anant said that 47066 pilgrims have registered for Yamunotri, 48806 for Gangotri, 105941 for Kedarnath, 84708 for Badrinath and 2362 for Shri Hemkund Dham.
Advance booking of 700 buses
Through the Joint Rotation Travel Arrangement Committee, the pilgrims and their groups have made advance booking of buses from many provinces of the country. Naveen Tiwari, in-charge of Joint Rotation Travel Arrangement Committee, said that till May 26, advance booking of 525 buses for Chardham has been done through joint rotation. Advance booking of 180 buses has been done for Do Dham. He informed that a fleet of 1000 buses has been made available for travel this year on behalf of Joint Rotation.
1200 green cards issued
Green cards have been issued by the Transport Department for 1200 vehicles since April 18. Assistant Divisional Transport Officer Administration Arvind Kumar Pandey said that a total of 205 green cards were issued on Friday.
So far, green cards have been issued to 464 buses, 3 mini buses, 235 maxi and 498 taxi vehicles. Green card facility will be made available for vehicles of other provinces from May 1.
