Incidents of cybercrime have increased significantly in the country for the last several years. The common man, well educated and intelligent people are also becoming the victim of this cyber fraud. Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has also become a victim of similar cybercrime. In this regard, he has lodged a complaint with the Bandra Police Station, on the basis of which the police have started further proceedings.
According to information received from sources, Kambli got a call posing as a bank official and was asked to update his KYC. For this a link was sent to Kambli. When Kambli opened this link and filled his KYC details, the money was immediately withdrawn from his account. Talking about this, Kambli told that as soon as he got the alert on the phone, he immediately spoke to the bank employee and got the account closed. After this he immediately approached the police and filed a complaint. Let us tell you that in this fraud, more than 1 lakh has been stolen from Kambli’s account.
Tell that Vinod Kambli is one of the very close friends of Sachin and has also played cricket for India. He entered international cricket in the year 1991. However, his career did not last long and he could play only 17 Tests and 104 ODIs. In ODIs, he scored 2477 runs with the help of two centuries and 14 half-centuries. Whereas he scored 1084 runs in Tests with two double centuries.
