From Agra's Taj Mahal to Brazil's Christ the Redeemer... Seven Wonders of the World seen in 6 days
London : A 36-year-old traveler from Britain has set a new world record. By traveling to the seven wonders of the world in just seven days, he has registered his name in the Guinness Book of World Records. According to GWR, Jamie ‘Adventureman’ McDonald covered the Seven Wonders of the World in six days, 16 hours and 14 minutes. Using public transport, he covered a distance of 36,783 km from March 6 to 12. This is a unique world record in itself.

Jamie’s journey began on March 6 at the Great Wall of China. On March 7, he came to India to see the Taj Mahal. They visited Petra in Jordan on 8 March, the Colosseum in Italy on 9 March, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil on 10 March, Machu Picchu in Peru on 11 March and finally Chichen Itza in Mexico on 12 March. According to reports, in his one-week world tour, Jamie traveled by 13 flights, 16 taxis, 9 buses, 4 trains and a toboggan.

Jamie was battling a rare disease

What makes Jamie’s achievement even more special, according to reports, is that doctors believed she would spend most of her adult life in a wheelchair. He suffered from a rare spinal cord disease called syringomyelia and was in frequent hospital visits until the age of 9. However, his symptoms gradually reduced over time.

GWR’s strict rules for travel

According to media reports, this entire journey of Jamie was planned by ‘Travelport’, a global technology company. However, after starting his journey under GWR rules, he had to complete the journey on his own. Apart from this, he also had to follow some other rules. As such they were to collect clear evidence of their visit in a logbook, record all photos and videos and obtain written statements from an official dignitary at each site.
