This conversation took place amid preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. On February 29, which was Gates’ last visit to India, the billionaire Gates said that he had discussed many local and global issues like digital public infrastructure, women-led development and innovation. Recently, on March 27, the Microsoft co-founder said that India has to work its own way and the services sector will play a bigger role than manufacturing in the country’s development journey. Billionaire Gates was then speaking virtually at the Times Now Summit 2024.
‘Intimidating others is the old culture of Congress…’, PM Modi said on the letter of 600 lawyers
Gates said during a conversation at the summit that ‘India has seen very stable development for some time. Obviously there are many countries that need to be learned from, where the period of development was very long. India will have to work in its own way. For example, manufacturing will play a role, but not as big a role as was said in China. Services will play a big role.
