Auto sales in 2021: Despite many challenges in the country’s automobile industry like Corona and lack of semiconductor chip last year, automakers took a giant leap in sales. According to the recently released data by the companies, manufacturers like Maruti, Mahindra, Tata and Hyundai have seen tremendous growth in sales, at a time when automakers are unable to continuously meet the strong demand, these figures of SAIL matter. In which double growth has been seen in sales, let us tell you which company’s condition was in the year 2021:
Mahindra & Mahindra
Domestic auto major Mahindra & Mahindra reported 11 per cent growth in overall sales last month to 39,157 units as against 35,187 units sold in December of 2020. Passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market grew by 10 per cent to 17,722 units as compared to the previous month. Whereas in the year-ago period, it was 16,182 units.
Maruti Suzuki br />
The country’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki India has seen a 13 per cent year-on-year growth in its wholesale sales in 2021 as the company dispatched 13.97 lakh units to dealers during the period, as against a year-ago period. This figure was 12.14 lakh units. It is to be noted here, that in the month of December last year, the company registered a decline of four per cent in overall wholesale sales, which stood at 1,53,149 units.
Hyundai Motor India
South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor India has reported double digit growth in total wholesale sales in 2021 as compared to the year 2020. The company expects the sales momentum to continue this year as well as other factors such as improving semiconductor chip availability. Speaking on the sale, Tarun Garg, Sales, Marketing and Service Director, Hyundai Motor India told PTI that the company is positive about the sale, with Aser entering 2022.
