The country’s largest Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch a new facelift model of its best selling multi purpose vehicle (MPV) Maruti Ertiga in the domestic market. Although the launch of its facelift model was being discussed for a long time, but for the first time it has been spotted during testing. According to the spy pictures, the company is going to present this MPV with major changes.
The Maruti Ertiga is the best selling MPV in its segment, especially its CNG variant. You can gauge its popularity from the fact that for its CNG variant, there is a wait of 7 to 8 months in some cities of the country. The facelift model is expected to get many changes from exterior to interior, which will make it different from the current model.
These changes can happen in the exterior:
The testing model was not covered completely, making much of it easy to see. Although its grill was definitely camouflaged. It is believed that cosmetic updates can be given in it. A closer look at the grille reveals that it will be similar to the Maruti Baleno facelift, as both the models share a similar pattern to the grille.
Other than that the MPV, as can be clearly seen in these pictures, is pretty much the same as before. The headlamps, tail-lamps, front and rear bumpers and even the alloy wheels will remain the same as the current model. Hence, no major changes are expected in its exterior. The design of the current model is also much better and advanced and its demand is showing that people are also liking it very much.
What will be the interior of the new Ertiga:
Although the interior has not been seen in the spy pictures, but it is believed that no major changes will be found in the interior too. Some equipments can be added to this along with new colored upholstery. It will come in the same 7-seater seat layout as before. There will also be no difference in terms of cabin size and space. Customers will definitely expect some new features in the new Ertiga.
Engine Capacity:
The engine and other mechanisms of the Maruti Ertiga facelift will also remain the same as the current model. In this car, the company will be given a 1.5-liter petrol engine, which will be equipped with mild hybrid technology. This engine generates 105hp power and 138Nm torque and will come mated to a 5-speed manual and 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. As far as the price is concerned, it is too early to say anything, but it is believed that due to the new update, it can definitely get a little expensive.
