Badwah (Naiduniya News). To resolve the ongoing dispute regarding toll collection on Maheshwar Road, MLA Sachin Birla held a marathon meeting with farmers, vehicle operators and toll officials at the rest house on Wednesday. Birla told MPRDC and toll officers in clear words that tractors and other goods carriers of farmers of villages around Barwah will have to be exempted from toll collection in any case or toll block should be shifted away from Barwah Nagar. The MLA said that he will write a letter to the Chief Minister on this issue and till this issue is not resolved, toll should not be collected from the vehicles of the local and nearby villages. During the meeting, the toll officer accepted the condition of giving exemption to small vehicles and tractor-trolleys, but refused to exempt heavy goods carriers from toll charges. Due to this, there was a situation of controversy in the meeting. BJP leaders Mahim Thakur, Rakesh Gupta, Chandrapal Singh Tomar, Mahesh Gurjar, Gulbir Singh Bhatia, Romesh Vijayvargiya, Bharat Chaurasia, Dipesh Vijayvargiya, Nikhilesh Khandelwal also favored the farmers and drivers and said that the toll block is only two km away from Barwah city. . Tractors and freight carriers of nearby villages have to travel repeatedly for various works. In such a situation, it is not justified to collect toll again and again from the freight carriers.
Exemption for vehicles within 10 km radius
There is a demand of farmers and freight operators of nearby villages that tractors and commercial vehicles of farmers of villages falling within 10 km radius of the toll block should be exempted from toll collection. Farmers have to come to Barwah by tractor trolley carrying vegetables, grains etc. Toll collection is being done by the toll management for all vehicles traveling multiple times in a single day. Due to this, farmers and vehicle operators are suffering financial loss. It is noteworthy that Rs 90 is charged for light commercial vehicles, Rs 225 for trucks and Rs 450 for multi axle vehicles at the toll block.
