Jaipur . Additional Chief Secretary Public Health Engineering Dr. Subodh Agrawal said that the collectors should work on mission mode in the districts where land allotment works are to be done for the big drinking water projects of the water supply department. He said that under many big projects in the state, if the land allocation for construction of head works, high reservoirs, main pump house and laying of transmission pipeline is done on time, then the projects would gain momentum. Dr. Agrawal was reviewing drinking water management through video conference with district collectors on Monday.
It is noteworthy that Isarda-Dausa drinking water project to provide drinking water to all the villages of Dausa district and 177 villages of Sawai Madhopur district, Reservoir construction under retrofitting for 1044 villages of Bharatpur, Dholpur and Rajkheda, Dholpur lift to Dholpur and Under the project of providing drinking water to 190 villages of Rajkheda block and Taranagar Integrated Drinking Water Project of Churu, works of laying high reservoirs, head works, main pump houses and large transmission lines are to be done.
Send proposals for additional works in summer contingency
Additional Chief Secretary said that under summer contingency, where additional works are required, proposals should be sent to the district collectors at the earliest so that the contingency works can be completed on time. He inquired about the progress of emergency works being done on the recommendation of the District Collector. He directed the Additional Chief Engineers and Superintending Engineers of the concerned districts to keep full coordination with the district collectors to solve the drinking water problems by holding regular meetings of the Drinking Water Review Committee in the districts.
Get the electricity connection of tube wells done soon
Dr. Agrawal directed all the superintending engineers to expedite the work of excavation of new hand pumps in summer contingency and expeditiously dispose of pending cases related to excavation of approved tube wells and connecting them with electricity connections. He warned the ACE and SE of the districts where maximum number of cases are pending regarding tube wells and hand pumps. He directed to discuss with the MDs in all the three discoms regarding the outstanding electricity connections. During the VC, the collectors of other districts including Jodhpur, Pali, Dausa, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Nagaur, Churu, Udaipur, Baran were discussed about the need for additional works under drinking water management and summer contingency in their districts. Additional Chief Engineers and Superintending Engineers of these districts also informed about the efforts being made for drinking water management during the summer season and the latest status of installation of hand pumps and tube wells.
