According to HDFC Securities, gold rose by Rs 133 to Rs 50,907 per 10 grams in the national capital on Thursday due to weakness in the rupee against the US Dollar. The precious yellow metal had closed at Rs 50,774 per 10 grams in the previous trading day.
Along with gold, the price of silver has also increased and has become expensive by Rs 273. With this rise, the price of silver rose to Rs 61,535 per kg. Let us inform that in the last trading day, it had closed at Rs 61,262 per kg. Significantly, the rupee on Thursday closed down by eight paise at 77.76 (provisional) against the US dollar.
In the international market, gold was trading marginally lower at USD 1,850 an ounce, while silver was trading flat at USD 21.95 an ounce. HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said that spot gold price remained weak on Comex on Thursday with a fall of 0.15 per cent.
