The number of new companies and LLPs (Limited Liability Partnerships) in the country has increased by 5 percent to 91,578 in the first four months of the current financial year, as against 87,379 in the same period last year. This information has been given by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. A senior official has said that the increase in the number of companies in the current financial year reflects the improvement in the business environment in the country. There was a 15 percent increase in the number of new companies in the entire financial year 2023-24. As of March 2024, 26,63,016 companies are registered in India. Experts say that the increase in the number of new companies will increase employment opportunities. This will provide more employment opportunities for the youth.
5,164 foreign companies registered
According to the data, a total of 5,164 foreign companies are registered in India, which shows that foreign investment is increasing rapidly in the country. According to government data, so far 10.17 lakh DIR-3 KYC forms have been submitted in the current financial year, which was 7.98 lakh in 2023-24. Currently, each director of companies is given Director Identification Number (DIN) at the end of the financial year or before. After the DIN number is approved, every director has to submit DIR-4 KYC form. Officials say that this figure may increase further in the coming time, as the number of new companies may increase due to the announcement of new schemes for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Budget 2024-25.
The aim is to provide employment to 50 lakh people
In the budget, the Finance Minister has announced a scheme to provide term loans without guarantee to MSMEs for purchasing machinery and new equipment. The government will provide a guarantee of up to Rs 100 crore in this. He further said that the government will give employers an amount of up to Rs 3,000 per month of EPFO contribution for two years for each additional new employee. The goal of this new initiative of the government is to provide additional employment opportunities to 50 lakh people.
