The attack on PAC jawans in the famous Gorakhnath temple of Gorakhpur on Sunday evening is the handiwork of a freak or is there a terrorist conspiracy behind it? The administration is taking the matter very seriously due to the presence of CM Yogi Adityanath’s monastery and his frequent movement here. Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) has started investigation into the matter. Two separate cases have been registered against the attacker in Gorakhnath police station.
SP ATS Abhishek Singh has reached Gorakhpur to investigate the matter. The ATS has started questioning the relatives of the attacker Ahmed Murtuja Abbasi. Mortaza will also be questioned and it will be ascertained what is his motive behind the attack. After the attack, the ATS took Mortaza’s family into custody on Sunday night itself. The family claims that Murtaza’s mental condition is not good. Laptop, Mumbai air ticket have also been found in the bag found by the police of the accused. Checking his laptop will try to find out who he was in contact with.
Terror angle not ruled out: ADG
ADG Zone Akhil Kumar said that Gorakshpeeth is a very famous and important place. The Chief Minister also keeps on coming and going. Here such an incident is very serious. The accused was continuously attacking. The police had a lot of patience. The accused was also raising religious slogans during the attack. Investigating all aspects. Can’t rule out the terror angle either.
Is it an attempt to mislead to make yourself look like an eccentric?
In the preliminary interrogation of the police, it has been learned that Ahmed Murtuja Abbasi has studied chemical engineering from Mumbai. Her father Munir Ahmed is also an engineer. Earlier Murtuja’s entire family lived in Mumbai. In October 2020, this family came to Gorakhpur and started living in Civil Lines. Ever since he was caught, he has been behaving in such a way that his mental condition seems to be deteriorating. But it is also being investigated whether he is really an eccentric or is trying to mislead by clever tricks.
