After this, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP fielded Bhojpuri film actor Ravi Kishan and SP gave ticket to Ram Bhual Nishad. In this election, Ravi Kishan got 7,17,122 votes, while Ram Bhual Nishad got 4,15,458 votes. Madhusudan Tripathi of Congress had to be satisfied with just 22,972 votes. In this way, Ravi Kishan won by a margin of 301,664 votes. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Yogi Adityanath was the BJP candidate from Gorakhpur seat. He got 5,39,127 votes. Against him, SP candidate Rajmati Nishad got 2,26,344 votes. BSP’s Ram Bhual Nishad got 1,76,412 votes. Congress’s Ashtabhuja Prasad Tripathi got 45,719 votes.
