To curb cyber fraud, the government had recently launched Chakshu Portal. This online portal launched by the government is proving to be very effective. Within the last one month, lakhs of people have filed complaints of online fraud on this portal. The government has decided to take major action on the complaints made by the users on this portal. For this, the government has issued instructions to telecom companies Airtel, BSNL, Jio, Vi (Vodafone-Idea).
More than 1 lakh complaints received
In the last one month, more than 1 lakh people have filed cyber fraud complaints on the government Chakshu portal, in which more than 10,000 numbers have been asked to be blocked. The government has issued instructions to telecom companies to immediately block about 11,000 mobile numbers. Cyber criminals were trying to cheat people through these mobile numbers.
On Chakshu portal, users have complained about messages, fraud calls, threatening calls etc. received from these numbers. The government has also asked telecom companies to block 700 such SMS content template headers. This Chakshu portal launched by the government works on the complaints made by the users. On this portal, the number complained by the user is investigated and after that an order is issued to block it.
Mobile app will also be launched
According to the reports coming out, the government may soon launch a mobile app for Chakshu Portal. After the launch of the app, users will be able to report any online fraud cases from their mobile phones. Seeing the way the cases of cyber crime have increased in the last few years, this Chakshu portal brought by the government can prove to be even more effective and the cases of cyber crime can be curbed.
