A youth who was trying to join the army allegedly committed suicide in Haryana’s Bhiwani. It is reported that the 23-year-old has taken this step due to the age of overage or army recruitment. The police gave this information on Friday. Here, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Varun Gandhi has also reacted sharply to stop the recruitment program in the army for two years. At the same time, opposition parties in the state have expressed their displeasure against the Centre.
According to the Indian Express, the incident happened on Thursday. ASI Virendra Singh of Mundar police post said that the youth has been identified as Pawan. The young man ended his life by hanging himself in the playground in his village. The special thing is that the young man was preparing for many years in this field with the desire to join the army.

The police officer said, ‘Pawan wanted to join the army. He was trying He used to reach the ground before the other youths to run. He had also passed the physical fitness exam two-three times, but could not go till the end. He was hopeful that in the remaining attempts, he would also pass the final round, but the recruitment process was stalled due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Because of this, his age has come to an end.
He further said, ‘Wednesday evening, he told his father that he had no goals left in his life after age. But his father did not take it seriously. His juniors saw Pawan’s body on Thursday morning. He informed, ‘The family has told us that they do not want any police action in this matter.’ He said that no FIR has been registered and the body has been handed over to the family.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala has claimed that about 10,000 youths of Haryana lost their chance to join the army due to lack of recruitment programme. “At present 4.5 lakh youth are preparing for the army in different parts of the state. Whereas, two lakh others have already crossed the age limit. Senior INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala has appealed to the government to start the recruitment process again.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had told the Rajya Sabha that due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the process of recruitment in the army has been stalled for the last two years. Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt had replied to the Rajya Sabha that 97 recruitment rallies were planned in 2020-21 and out of these, only 47 were held. The Common Entrance Examination (CEE) could be conducted for only 4 out of 47 rallies before the process was halted due to COVID.
