New Delhi. After the voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections ended on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he is getting an overwhelming response. The PM said that it is clear that people across India are voting for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in record numbers.
Modi tweeted on social media ‘X’ and said, ‘First phase, tremendous response! Thank you to everyone who voted today. We are getting excellent response from today’s voting. It is clear that people all over India are voting for NDA in record numbers.

According to the Election Commission, in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, about 60.03 percent voting was recorded on 102 seats in 21 states and union territories on Friday. On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed after the first phase of elections that as per the information received by it, it will increase its Lok Sabha seats extensively even in those states where it is not considered relatively strong.

After the end of the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on 102 seats in 21 states and union territories of the country, BJP spokesperson and MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said that people stand united with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to form a strong and decisive government. He also took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and called him the ‘self-proclaimed’ leader of the opposition alliance ‘India’.
Trivedi said that Gandhi has still not been able to muster the courage to file his nomination from Amethi Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh. BJP’s Smriti Irani had defeated Rahul Gandhi on Amethi seat in the 2019 elections and before that Amethi was considered the stronghold of the Gandhi family.
Some reports have said that former Congress President Gandhi may contest elections from Amethi, but no official announcement has been made in this regard yet. The BJP spokesperson claimed that the ruling party will win more seats and by a bigger margin than last time.
In an apparent reference to Tamil Nadu, he said the party will make big strides in states where it is not relatively strong. Voting took place on all 39 Lok Sabha seats of Tamil Nadu on Friday. According to the Election Commission, in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, about 60.03 percent voting was recorded on 102 seats in 21 states and union territories on Friday.
