Jaipur . Col Kirori Singh Bainsla, convener of Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, died in a private hospital on Thursday. He was 81 years old. His last rites will be performed at Mudiya near his native village Hindaun.
His family consists of one daughter and three sons.
They have a son Vijay Bainsla also a retired colonel, while daughter Sunita Bainsla is an IRS officer.
Colonel Bainsla was ailing for a long time.
He had to face several health-related challenges after he tested positive for Covid-19 last year.
Colonel Bainsla had commanded the reservation movement since 2004 demanding separate reservation for the Gujjar community.
He became the face of the reservation movement by protesting on the railway track.
