– Complaint in cyber cell
Gwalior Cyber crime News: Gwalior. New Zealand Representative. On-line thugs transferred one and a half lakh rupees to their e-wallet by giving wrong information about the closure of the credit card’s protection plane. Friyadiya Shilpi has complained about this fraud to the Cyber Cell of the Crime Branch. By contacting the e-wallet companies, the police is trying to get it back in the complainant’s account.
Shilpi, a resident of Goalpahadia, made a written complaint in the cyber cell and told that she has an account in SBI and uses SBI credit card. Two days ago, a woman’s call came on her mobile. The caller introduced herself as a credit card company official. The caller told that the protection plan of his credit card is closed. They have to check when the protection plan was activated. After some time, the girl who called the girl sent messages on her mobile and told that OTP came on mobile to check the protection plan. Within a short time, about one and a half lakh rupees were withdrawn from his account. The complainant did not even get a chance to block the account.
There have been many incidents like this: Many people have been cheated till now on the pretext of closing the protection plan of credit card and they also reached the cyber cell to complain. But till now the cyber cell has not been able to reach the accused in a single case. At the same time, people are also not aware, so they fall in the trap and tell their OTP to the thugs.
