New Delhi. The Supreme Court will now hear the matter of Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi, UP at 3 pm tomorrow. The bench of Justice DY Chandrachud took this decision after the application of the Hindu side. The Hindu side had appealed for more time. Along with this, the court has also directed the lower court of Varanasi not to pass any order. The case was put in the court at number 19. On the commencement of its hearing, Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Jain appealed to the court for hearing tomorrow. At the same time, Tushar Mehta, the lawyer and Attorney General of the UP government, wanted an early hearing in this matter.
After hearing all the parties, Justice Chandrachud said that we can hear tomorrow, but already 50 cases are engaged in our bench. Let me talk to my fellow judge first. After this, after talking to the second judge of the bench, Justice Chandrachud issued an order to hear the matter tomorrow. Please tell that the order to conduct the survey of Gyanvapi Masjid was given by Ravi Kumar Diwakar, Civil Judge, Senior Division, Varanasi. Two reports of this survey have been presented in the court. A two-page report has been given by the removed court commissioner Ajay Mishra. Whereas, another report has been filed by two other court commissioners Vishal Singh and Ajay Pratap Singh.
The hearing was also held in the Supreme Court on Tuesday. Then the bench of Justice Chandrachud had ordered to protect the Shivling-like figure found in the Vazukhana of the Gyanvapi Masjid. Along with this, he had also refused to grant a stay on the case going on in the lower court. Along with this, the Muslims were also given the freedom to offer Namaz in Gyanvapi. In its order, the lower court had allowed only 20 Muslims to offer Namaz.
