Court commissioner Ajay Mishra, who was removed from the panel that conducted the survey inside the Gyanvapi mosque complex, said he respected the order of the local court. Mishra, however, alleged that he was removed from the panel at the behest of Special Counsel Commissioner Vishal Singh. “I have not done anything that would disturb the confidentiality of the matter,” he said. I was removed because of the allegations of Advocate Vishal Singh. Whatever has happened is because of (their) only.
The court order was passed by Civil Judge Senior Division Ravi Kumar Diwakar on an application filed by Court Commissioner Vishal Singh. In his petition, the Special Counsel Commissioner alleged that Ajay Mishra was not cooperating fully in the proceedings of the commission appointed by the court and was not even interested in it.
The court then removed Ajay Mishra from the survey panel, as a cameraman accompanying him had allegedly leaked the survey proceedings to the media. During the submission of the report on May 19, now Assistant Advocate Commissioner Ajay Pratap Singh will accompany Vishal Singh.
Earlier in the day, the commission concluded its three-day survey of the mosque in Varanasi on Monday. The survey team sought additional time from the local court as the final report is yet to be compiled. The panel has been asked to submit its report by Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has asked the district magistrate of Varanasi to ensure the security of the area inside the mosque, where a ‘Shivling’ was found in the survey. Whereas the top court has said in its decision that there will be no prohibition to offer Namaz.
