New Delhi. The issue of Gyanvapi Masjid located in Varanasi, UP is going on in many courts. Apart from the district court of Varanasi, several petitions have also been filed in the Allahabad High Court and the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is going to hear one of these applications today. Shankaracharya of Jyotishpeeth Swami Avimukteshwaranand has given this application in the Supreme Court. In this application, approval has been sought to worship and perform ragabhog of Shivling-like figure found in the Vaju Khana of Gyanvapi Masjid. Earlier this application was to be heard on 18 November. Which was postponed by the court till today.
At the same time, another application in this regard is also under consideration in the fast track court in Varanasi. In that also, the idols of Gods and Goddesses found in the Gyanvapi Masjid, Shringar Gauri and Shivling-like figures have been considered to be worshiped daily. In this application, an appeal has also been made to ban the entry of Muslims in Gyanvapi Masjid. The court rejected the objection of the Muslim side and considered the application of the Hindus as admissible. At the same time, Varanasi District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwesh is also hearing an application to hand over the Gyanvapi mosque complex to Hindus.
On Monday, a hearing was held in the Allahabad High Court on the issue of scientific investigation of the Shivling-like figure found in the Gyanvapi mosque. Then the Archaeological Survey of India i.e. ASI had said that apart from carbon dating, there is also new technology. Due to which the antiquity of this shape can be investigated. A petition has been filed in the Allahabad High Court to investigate the antiquity of the entire Gyanvapi complex.
