After receiving inputs from Punjab Police, Sonepat police arrested Sagar alias Binny, Sunil alias Pehalwan and Jatin, residents of village Juan associated with Khalistani organizations, besides Surendra alias Sonu, resident of village Rajpur with weapons. At the same time, after interrogation of James Deep alias Jimmy Chatha, arrested from Sirsa on February 16, now on Monday, Vishal resident of village Fatehpuria and Harmandeep alias Harry, resident of Ghukanwali, were arrested.
9 mm pistol of Beretta company was recovered from both of them. Police arrested them and took them to Mohali. Punjab Police’s investigation so far has revealed that Sunil Kumar is an accomplice of Canada-based gangster Arshdeep Singh Dalla. Cases are registered against him under several sections including murder of Bhagta Bhai, resident of Manohar Lal Arora, district Bathinda and extortion.
At the same time, Sirsa resident of Jamesdeep Singh alias Jimmy Chatha used to give shelter to these gangsters. Senior officials of Mohali police said that the terrorists arrested from Sonepat will also be brought on remand soon for questioning. It is expected that many secrets will be revealed in their interrogation.
NIA and IB interrogated the four terrorists for 18 hours
The Khalistani handlers arrested from Sonipat have been questioned by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as well as Intelligence Bureau (IB) and STF Haryana teams for about 18 hours. While the NIA interrogated the terrorists who were taken on eight-day remand for 13 hours, the IB and STF teams were also engaged in their interrogation for hours. Along with this, the police of Sonipat has given a letter to the banks for the details of the accounts of the accused. Their details are likely to be available soon. Police have also recovered some Aadhar cards from the house of accused Sagar. Information is being collected about them.
Sonipat police arrested Sunil alias Pahalwan and Jatin from his house on Saturday after arresting Sagar, a resident of village Juan, after inputs from Punjab Police and intelligence agencies. Police had recovered AK-47, three foreign pistols and 56 live cartridges from their possession. Later, his companion, originally from village Malha Majra, currently resident of Rajpur, Surendra alias Sonu, was caught with two pistols and six cartridges.
The accused were working at the behest of terrorists Gurjant Singh alias Junta living in Australia, Lakhvir Singh Road, terrorists living in Pakistan, terrorists Hardeep Singh Nijjar and Arshdeep Singh Dala who took refuge in Canada. The NIA team had reached from Delhi and Chandigarh on Sunday night itself to interrogate the accused. The five-member team has intensively questioned the accused in the case for about 13 hours.
Later, the team of IB Delhi and STF Haryana also interrogated him for about five hours and gathered information. It is being told that Sagar alias Binny had direct contact with Khalistan-backed terrorists. Sagar used to work by connecting others with him. From Khalistan-backed terrorists, 10 to 12 lakh rupees have come in three different bank accounts of Sagar. The investigating agency is collecting records in this regard.
Police took the accused to their places and homes
On Monday, the police team took the accused to their places and also to their house. The police have also seized some Aadhar cards from Sagar’s house. However, it could not be ascertained whether the Aadhar card was forged or that they were prepared from photocopies of wrongdoings. Police is engaged in its investigation.
Asked for details of three bank accounts, finding out about others
The police team had got information about three bank accounts of the accused. For this, the police have contacted the banks. Information has been requested in writing. Further action will be taken based on the information. Their other bank accounts are being traced. However, so far the police have not got any success in this direction.
Terrorists had taken foreign pistols ranging from seven to 18 lakhs
Police have also recovered AK-47 along with four foreign pistols from the possession of the terrorists. It has been told that the value of US-made Beretta pistol recovered from Sunil is between Rs 15 to 18 lakh. At the same time, the price of three Glock pistols is also being told between Rs 7 to 9 lakhs. The price of AK-47 varies.
Sagar came in contact with pro-Khalistan in anti-agriculture law movement
Investigation has revealed that Sagar alias Binny came in contact with a terrorist from Punjab through a video going viral during the anti-agriculture law movement.
