New Delhi. The Haryana government has finally lifted the ban imposed in the state for 54 years. According to this ban, earlier government employees of the state of Haryana could not participate in the activities of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). But now after the Haryana government’s decision to remove this ban, the state government employees will be able to join the RSS and be a part of its activities. The information about the removal of this ban was given by the General Administration Department of the Government of Haryana. For this, the department has issued a circular. In this circular, all orders related to the ban on government employees from joining the RSS and being part of its activities have been withdrawn.

Who imposed the ban?
In 1967, the central government banned the government employees of the country from joining the RSS and being a part of its activities. After this, in the same year, the then Haryana government issued a circular and implemented this ban in the state. Although this ban was lifted by the Janata Party government after the Emergency was lifted from the country, it was again imposed by the Congress government in 1980.

Reason for lifting ban of Haryana government
The General Administration Department of the Government of Haryana has given the reason behind removing this ban in its circular that when this ban was imposed and the orders issued in relation to it, they have no meaning at the present time.
Which states have already removed this ban?
This ban has been lifted in Gujarat in 2000, in Madhya Pradesh in 2006, in Himachal Pradesh in 2008 and in Chhattisgarh in 2015.
