New Delhi. Amidst the discussion of Prashant Kishor in the Congress, a significant change could happen in the Haryana Congress. It is expected that a new state president may be appointed soon.
Haryana leaders on Saturday held a meeting for several hours at 15 GRG (Gurdwara Rakabganj Road), which is called the Congress’s war room, regarding the appointment of the new state president. Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, Ambika Soni and Antony attended the meeting.
In fact, before this meeting, some names were suggested to the high command on behalf of the Hooda camp for the state president. These include the names of Rajya Sabha member Deepender Hooda, former Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal, former Speaker of the Assembly Kuldeep Sharma and former MLA Udaybhan. Now it is being said that the high command has been asked to agree on the name of four-time MLA Udaybhan. Udaybhan belongs to Scheduled Caste.
Since then it is being expected that the new president of Congress in Haryana will be of Scheduled Castes. Udaybhan is considered very close to Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Earlier, he had political differences with Palwal MLA and former minister Karan Singh Dalal, but now it is being told that the name of Udaybhan has been suggested to Hooda by Dalal. Karan Singh Dalal is the relative of former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
There is a lot of enthusiasm in the Hooda camp regarding the appointment of the state president. However, Hooda did not make any statement in this regard after the meeting held in Volume on Saturday. According to sources, Bhupinder Singh Hooda will be the leader of the Congress Legislature Party and the Leader of the Opposition. It is believed that there has been a tussle going on in the state Congress for a long time between Hooda and Kumari Selja faction.
